About GHARP
The Greater Horn of Africa Rainwater Partnership (GHARP) is a regional network of National Rainwater Associations (NRWA) from the Greater Horn of Africa (GHA) countries. The partnership was formally established in March 2001. The current members of GHARP are:
Ethiopia Rainwater Harvesting Association (ERHA); Kenya Rainwater Association (KRA); Rainwater Association of Somalia (RAAS); Rainwater Harvesting Association of Tanzania (RHAT – not very active); and Uganda Rainwater Association (URWA)
The main goal of GHARP is to promote integrated RHM systems and complementary technologies for water supply, food security, poverty reduction, and sustainable livelihoods. GHARP strives to achieve its vision and mission through the following objectives:
- Strengthening institutional capacity of GHARP and its member associations to enable them to carry out their mandate efficiently and effectively;
