ABOUT URWA

The Uganda Rainwater Association (URWA) is a national membership non-governmental organisation with a main purpose of raising the profile of rainwater management and utilization among all development sectors in Uganda. The idea of forming a Rainwater Association in Uganda was conceived in 1997 at the Arusha workshop. A committee was then formed in 1998 to pursue registration. In February 1999, registration was secured and the Uganda Rainwater Association was formally established with eight Executive committee members. URWA is a member of GHARP, Southern and Eastern Africa Rainwater Network (SearNet) and Green Water Harvesting Partnership (GWP).
